Our Sin
We are all born with a sin nature. Because of our sin, we are unable to have right relationship with God without His grace.

Romans 3:23 says this, "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." (NCV)
God's Gift
We can't earn God's forgiveness. It is a free gift from God. Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice so that we could be forgiven.

Romans 5:8 says, "But God showed his great love for us while we were still sinners." (NLT)
And Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages (penalty) of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. " (NLT)
Our Response
We must accept this free gift from God by committing our heart and lives to Jesus. Which is what you've just done!

Romans 10:9 says, If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (NLT)
